GENOS – Yamaha’s Ultimate Digital Arranger Workstation Keyboard

Yamaha has always been one of the forefront manufacturers of the arranger workstation keyboard series from the PSR series, to the PSR-SX series, Tyros, and now please welcome Yamaha’s flagship model, the GENOS. Imagine all of the technology from Yamaha’s previous arranger workstation keyboards combined and perfected into a single compact keyboard, that’s how to simply describe the amazing features in the GENOS. In the sound department, the GENOS is equipped with Yamaha’s latest state-of-the-art tone generator, the SWP70 which is capable to generate sample playback from AWM2 synthesis (Montage) and FM-X synthesis (MODX) sound engines. To support the maximum performance of the sound engine, Yamaha installed a 76-key FSX type of keyboard (256 max polyphonies) with initial/aftertouch which means a player can easily switch the touch response type from normal, to soft, and hard based on their preference.

Two Yamaha’s premium acoustic pianos – the CFX & C7 – are recorded and sampled in a world-class studio for the GENOS. Also, high-quality ensemble instrument sounds such as string, brass, and wind are mapped in GENOS’ Ensemble Voices along with the famous Montage and MODX synthesizer sounds.

Enhanced DSP is also one of GENOS’ highlight features where you can find studio-quality effects with easy customization to level up the tone of your choice thanks to the iconic Yamaha VCM (Virtual Circuit Modeling). Real-time effect customization was made easy with the help of sophisticated assignable knobs and faders design including each OLED parameter display.

A workstation keyboard is all about real-time onboard recording which in GENOS you will get 16 tracks of sequencer that can be paired with the assignable knobs and faders. With over 50 preset drum kits installed in the GENOS, you can start your music production right away.
