Okay, let’s take a look at some of the key differences between Korg EK-50 and EK-50L starting with the sound department where they are using the same Stereo PCM sound generator but EK-50 L has 790 sounds and 59 drum kits, while EK-50 only has 702 sounds and 41 drum kits.
Next the auto-accompaniment, EK-50L received 10 new styles from the previous model with a total of 290 presets. The new backing pattern styles and sounds include EDM-focused music which is very popular nowadays.
On the Keyboard settings, EK-50 and EK-50 L are using 61-key velocity-sensitive with 4 levels of touch responses but EK-50 L has more keyboard sets with 200 sets while EK-50 only has 170 sets. With EK-50 L you can have more keyboard sounds and rhythms combination.
Another major upgrade on Korg EK-50 L is the built-in speakers which come with a pair of 120 mm Double Corn speakers with a speaker efficiency system, this gives the EK-50 L twice the volume feeling of the previous model.
