Roland RD-2000 is the latest release of the RD stage piano series which is often referred to as the Flagship model because of the cutting-edge technology from Roland’s years of experience & experiment packed inside this beast to produce amazing sounds and playability on the stage and studio sessions.
In the sound department, Roland RD-2000 arrives with a breakthrough with two Independent Sound Engines, the V-Piano, and SuperNATURAL Technologies. The SuperNATURAL sound engine which can often be found in Roland’s high-tier digital pianos produces over 1000 additional high-quality instrument and synthesizer sounds. While the V-Piano sound engine is the pinnacle of years of research in the RD series resulting in sumptuously detailed acoustic piano sounds including the natural ambiance supporting it with a full-keyboard polyphony. You will be surprised to find out that you can play the iconic Roland RD-1000 (from the ’80s) sounds along with the old-school synth module, MKS-20.
The sound performance is also supported by a premium set of keynotes with an authentic acoustic piano playing experience, the Progressive Hammer-Action Keyboard with Escapement, and Ebony/Ivory Feel (PHA-50). The polyphony is divided into 2 categories based on each sound engine. While playing the sounds coming from the SuperNATURAL engine, the player will get 128 notes of polyphonies which is more than enough for any music genre. While playing the acoustic piano sounds of the V-Piano sound engine, you will experience the full-keyboard polyphony which means no notes are left behind, and combined with the PHA-50 keyboard, experience a true acoustic piano touch. Another interesting feature for you to explore is the 8 assignable zones, it allows you to assign your favorite sounds to different key areas, or create up to 8 layers of sound combination.
The RD-2000 is equipped with a USB audio/MIDI interface which makes it an ultimate control center during a stage or recording session. You can easily connect RD-2000 with your laptop or computer and gain control access to the DAW or any additional digital VST. This connection is also working for a direct recording session.
As a stage piano, the control panel is a playground, designed with an easy-access structure. You will mostly play a lot with its 8 dynamic encoder knobs and 9 sliders to customize your selected tone with effects. Additionally, all the knobs are lit up with LED indicators which makes navigational much easier on the stage with low light.
