Korg MicroKORG-S – Versatile Analog Vocoder Synthesizer Keyboard with Built-in Speakers

For more than two decades, the MicroKORG is still considered one of the best analog modeling synthesizer keyboards in the world due to its high performance in the sound department and portability, now it has returned with an upgraded and advanced model, the MicroKORG-S.

Korg MicroKORG-S was initially released in 2016 and boosted as the upgraded model from its predecessor – MicroKORG which was released back in 2002 – equipped with some new advanced technologies such as powerful built-in speakers, 64 new preset tones, and a sophisticated new design. This powerful synthesizer keyboard is still among the highest demands in the Singapore market today.

Much like its 2002 model, MicroKORG-S comes with 37 velocity-sensitive slim keys and maximum polyphony of 4 tones. Also, in the tone generator part, MicroKORG-S still features Korg’s iconic Analog Modeling Synthesis System sound engine which provides the keyboard with 192 preset tones (64 new additional tones from the previous model). Another iconic feature is the mini condenser microphone which is equipped with an 8-band Vocoder for a wide exploration of the vocal effect.

It’s not an analog modeling keyboard if you can’t play with waveform modeling right?! That’s why you will get to play around with a dual-oscillator synthesis engine that delivers 8 types of waveforms: Sawtooth, Square, Triangle, Sine, Vox, DWGS, Noise, and Audio In along with Korg’s vintage DW-8000.

The significant difference in features between the MicroKORG and MicroKORG-S is that the latter model offers the convenience of a high-quality 2.1 built-in speakers system and comes in a white panel. All you just need is six AA-type batteries and you are ready to play this portable synthesizer keyboard.
