Yamaha RSE20 – The Classic Revstar in Refreshing Looks

When Yamaha introduced a new line of electric guitars called Revstar back in 2015 which was inspired by the style of 1960s café racer motorcycles, it instantly became a hit among guitar enthusiasts. Seven years later – in 2022 – Yamaha decided to breathe a new life into this iconic series with the Yamaha RSE20 Revstar Element offering improved comfort and even more impressive details.

Yamaha RSE20 is still holding on to the Revstar’s iconic curvy double-cut lightweight chambered body; inspired by the 1960s British Café racer motorbikes; with Mahogany as the main material. Yamaha’s Acoustic Design play important role in developing this unique body resulting in optimized balance, producing a resonant tone, and reducing weight.

Two Yamaha Alnico V humbucking pickups are seated nicely on the body as the center of the tonal producer. These pairs give you a multiple choice of tonal pallet between modern high-gain tones, classic grit, or both combined. Another new addition to this 2022 Revstar model is the “Dry” switch that replaced the Coil-Split with a function of tightening up the tone’s low end and sharpening the trebles.
