Roland TD-02KV is the latest member in the V-Drums series and an upgraded version from the TD-02K with an additional PDX-8 snare pad. Roland TD-02KV boosts a beginner-friendly drumming experience with useful features to develop their techniques.
Much like its sibling, Roland TD-02KV also comes in a complete set with a total of 10-piece kits including a snare pad, 3 tom pads, 3 cymbals, 2 pedal controllers, and a drum module. The 8-inch PDX-8 snare pad features a tunable mesh head with a respective rim trigger for a natural side-sticking technique. The 4-inch PD-4 toms boost expressive responsive triggers, and the pedal controllers (hi-hat and kick pedals) include a noise-reducing feature to optimize the silent practice.
Roland TD-02 drum module is still the main sound engine for the TD-02KV where it highlights a total of 16 preset kits of various genres from rock to pop, and jazz to dance. For guided practice, the Onboard Coach feature is ready to steadily develop your drumming techniques with the Time Check, Quiet Count, Auto Up/Down, and Change-Up modes.
The pedal controllers also need to be highlighted because it’s rare for entry-level e-drums to include them. The FD-1 hi-hat controller and KT-1 kick controller boosts pad-less function that produces low to zero noise which is very suitable for a practice kit at home.
Much like other V-Drums models, Roland TD-02KV also highlights its compact and portable design. With the MDS-LITE Drum Stand as the core; the total weight of the kit would be around 14 kg; you can easily pack it, bring it, and set it up without too much time-consuming.
