Firstly the tone generator department, ever since Roland Juno-60 launched in 1982, the Juno synth sound engine has been greatly improved over the years and Juno-DS88 is the pinnacle of the combined previous generations’ technologies that arrived with the Updated Juno Sound Engine. Juno-DS88 is also compatible with Juno-Di patches which makes the soundbank to a whole new level for music production of any genre.
Secondly the playability experience, Juno-DS88 is equipped with an acoustic piano-like type of keyboard; 88 weighted-action Ivory Feel-G Keyboard; where you can feel the difference in weight and velocity on each note from the lower to the upper register. Combined with the premium preset piano sound, every piano-oriented keyboard player will be having a good time during stage or studio sessions.
Thirdly the soundbank unit, you will be spoiled with over 1000 high-quality preset tones that can be accessed from the internal waveform expansion (preloaded with EXP-06 Studio Collection) and downloaded for free from Roland’s Axial website. Patches like premium piano packs, world instruments sound, studio standards sounds, and more are available for you to download, customize, and play.
Fourthly the sequencer, it’s rare for a synthesizer keyboard to be equipped with an onboard sequencer for real-time music production but Juno-DS88 is a versatile keyboard that can also work as a workstation due to its onboard 8-track sequencer. The sequencer was built with easy-to-use in mind, therefore, you won’t be having a hard time navigating each control panel which makes real-time music production be a lot easier and more time-saving. Another noteworthy feature for recording is the USB Audio Interface where you can easily connect and record Audio and MIDI data in real time to a PC or Laptop and turn it into a mobile recording rig.
