Yamaha FGDP-30 - A New Way to Play Drums

The Yamaha FGDP-30 Finger Drum Pad redefines portable rhythm creation with an instrument designed specifically for expressive finger drumming. Compact yet powerful, it turns your fingertips into a dynamic percussion setup with built-in drum sounds, an integrated speaker, and a rechargeable battery. As a standalone groove machine, the FGDP-30 lets producers, beatmakers, drummers, and content creators craft beats anytime—no computer or external gear required.

At the heart of the FGDP-30 is a unique 18-pad layout engineered for natural finger performance. The pads are arranged in an ergonomic arc that supports a comfortable three-finger playing technique—thumb for kick, index for snare, and middle finger for hi-hat. This intuitive layout helps players quickly build grooves from simple 8-beat patterns to more complex rhythms using both hands.

The velocity-sensitive pads with aftertouch capture every nuance of your playing. From subtle ghost notes and accents to rapid rolls and flams, the FGDP-30 responds accurately to your touch. Applying pressure after striking a pad can even trigger expressive effects such as cymbal chokes or sound modulation, adding greater realism and performance control.

Powered by Yamaha’s advanced AWM2 sound engine, the FGDP-30 delivers a versatile sound library featuring 39 preset drum kits and over 1,200 voices. These include realistic acoustic drums, electronic beats, and modern percussion sounds suitable for a wide range of musical styles. Users can also customise kits by adjusting parameters like tuning, decay, and effects to create their own signature grooves.

Designed for true portability, the FGDP-30 features a built-in speaker and rechargeable battery, providing up to three hours of playtime. Simply power it on and start drumming anywhere—from practice sessions to spontaneous jam moments.

For music production, the USB-to-Host connection supports both MIDI and audio, allowing seamless integration with DAWs and virtual instruments. An AUX input also allows you to connect a smartphone or music player, making it easy to practice and perform along with your favourite tracks.
